Shocking news arrives at the start of 2026. After a long 14-year wait, the sequel to the legendary hit movie "5 cm" has finally been greenlit.
Production house Soraya Intercine Films has just given a strong signal regarding the development of a project titled "5 cm: Revolusi Hati" (Revolution of the Heart).
For those of you who were inspired to climb mountains because of Genta, Arial, Zafran, Riani, and Ian, get ready. This time, their destination is no longer the freezing Mahameru Peak, but the challenging Indonesian Ocean.
The film is adapted from Donny Dhirgantoro's follow-up novel. If the first movie (2012) was about conquering egos at an altitude of 3,676 masl, this sequel will bring more mature conflicts.
Although the exact release date hasn't been locked, production is rumored to start this year.
While waiting for the release, this is the perfect moment to rewatch the first movie. Feel the nostalgia with Ian chasing the train, or Zafran's poetic monologues.
Be careful, don't watch on illegal sites. Besides pixelated quality, the gambling ad pop-ups can infect your phone with viruses. The crystal clear HD version of "5 cm" is available on Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar.
"Netflix subscription is expensive!" Relax, that's old news. At JoinBareng, you can access Netflix or Disney+ Premium with an official sharing system. The price? Only the cost of an iced coffee for a full month of access.
Instead of just waiting curiously for the sequel, better refresh your memory by watching the first movie now. Guaranteed to ignite your 2026 resolutions!
