The current New Scientist Digital shared plan available on JoinBareng is the 1-user package, which means the slot you purchase gives you private access to a single New Scientist account. You get full access to the weekly edition, the entire magazine archive, podcasts, and newsletters via the website and iOS/Android apps. The account is billed every 4 weeks, and you can stop anytime without an annual contract.
For plans using shared account login (Credential), there are important rules to follow so you do not disturb other users' slots. Do not change the account password, do not change the account email, and do not log out other devices that are currently using the shared slot. Violating these rules can result in your slot being reset and your access being cut off. JoinBareng will send the login credentials via WhatsApp after payment is received and the account is verified.
The 1-user package is what's currently open. Group packages with multiple slots for even cheaper cost-sharing will be coming soon. There is no confirmed opening date yet, so check the New Scientist page on JoinBareng for the latest updates. Once the group package opens, you can switch from the 1-user package to the group package if you want to save even more.
For Credential-type group plans, the account belongs to JoinBareng and is shared among up to 3 slots per group. You get the same full features as regular subscribers, just shared according to the rules set by the platform. The price you pay is a proportion based on the number of slots in the group.
Usage rules for Credential plans: do not change the password, do not change the email, do not log out other devices, and do not use the account on more than one device at the same time if the plan does not support multi-device. Violations can result in your slot being reset and you losing access until the next billing cycle. If you forget the rules, ask admin via WhatsApp before using.
For group plans, the activation flow is: pay via QRIS first, then wait for the group to fill up to its maximum slot count. Once slots are filled, JoinBareng admin activates the shared account and sends credentials to all group members via WhatsApp. If the group has not filled up after payment, you can wait until slots are filled or request a 100% refund via admin.
